Erik Svetoft

Interview with ERIK SVETOFT:

Your childhood ambition:

I think I wanted to be an astronaut for a while but only because it sounded impressive.

Something you treasure:

The process of solving a problem.

Your worst habit:

Some days I forget to eat and just drink coffee instead. I also have a very bad sleeping pattern.

The aspect of your work that’s most important to you:

That there is a story hidden or visible in every piece.

Your first job:

Separating sausages in a sausage factory with a small knife. It was cold and damp and smelled like smoked meat. I worked there for a day.

Someone whose work you highly recommend:

I recommend the architecture of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. I’ve been meaning to visit Vienna and see it in person.
